Climbing up Gunung Besout

Peace be upon you. Something from last weekend.

Friday 17th April 2026. On the way to the Teluk Intan for a function the following day I decided to make a stop at a place just after Trolak, and before Sungkai.

I wanted to climb a hill known as Gunung Besout. After walking from my initial parking place I thought the way in looked good enough and decided to take the car.

Then I came across a part which would likely make the tyres get stuck in mud. So I parked nearby and continued on foot.

This is through an oil palm plantation on to the base of the hill.

This should be where the actual climb starts.

After more than 4 hours of walking and climbing only I got to the summit.

This picture was taken at 7.23 pm. After I got out of the hill jungle back to plantation. It took me about half an hour later to arrive back at the car.

The canopies of Masjid Nabawi

Peace be upon you. On to the 13th day of the umrah trip.

Saturday 21st February 2026. It is the last day we were in Medina, in fact last in the Arab lands.

At around 11 am went for a last visit to Masjid Nabawi, the Prophet's Mosque.

The retractable canopies around the inner compound were all fully opened then.

Buggy ride to Masjid Quba

Continuing from Visiting the tomb of Prophet Muhammad SAW.

That night me and family walked through the southern compound of Masjid Nabawi or the Prophet's Mosque to get to a place for buggy ride.

This is buggy ride using a special path to get to Masjid (mosque of) Quba some 4 km further south and back.

As you go along get to watch regular local life.

Masjid Quba, in its original much simpler form, was the first mosque built by Prophet Muhammad SAW after migrating from Medina to Mecca.

The buggy ride is said to used the actual path the Prophet used to get from Masjid Quba to the present site of Masjid Nabawi.

Visiting the tomb of Prophet Muhammad SAW

Peace be upon you. On to the 12th day of the umrah trip.

Early Friday morning 20th February 2026. After 2 nights being in Medina in fact at a hotel besides the outer compound of Masjid Nabawi (the Prophet's Mosque) only got the opportunity to enter the inner compound.

Before that often arrived at times when the mosque was full and thus all paths to enter were closed.

This was along the path that passed by the area known as raudah.

At the end lies the tomb of Prophet Muhammad SAW.
