The mangrove beach at Batu Laut

Getting out of the East Coast storytelling for a while...

Mid last month I stopped by at this cleared mangrove area facing the Straits of Melaka.

Located at Batu Laut near Morib, Selangor it has a certain beauty of its own.

Luckily the ground is solid enough for a walk.

So I went around to enjoy the view.

Apparently it is beautiful enough to make photo shoots.

I understand this area has also seen film shootings and such...

Bringing the baby to the tomb of Tok Pulau Manis

OK. I went to the river alone to quickly snap pictures leaving behind a number of people. So I returned back to where they where at, the surau (small praying hall) besides a building of certain importance.

The building I'm talking about is this.

It is surrounded by many old graves.

Having been to this place a number of times this pair of tombstones looking like tumblers never fail to fascinate me.

Time for the wife and baby Al-Rashid, then a year and two months old to join me as two of our friends waited outside.

Rasyid paying respect to Tok Pulau Manis, a famous Terengganu saint of 16-17th century AD.

Then he started going around touching the tombstones of Tok Pulau Manis closest family members...

Terengganu river from Kampung Pulau Manis

Back the 9th day of the East Coast travel. Continuing from A part of the river Ibai close to its mouth.

After visiting a number of other places we went to Kampung Pulau Manis in Serada. At one part there's a staircase leading down to this place.

It opens up to a body of water, the Terengganu river, one of the biggest river in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

A look downriver.

A look across.

A look upriver.
