Kemaman river near the East Coast inner trunk road

Later in the evening while returning to the East Coast inner trunk road from a nearby rural settlement we came across a bridge crossing the river Kemaman.

I just have to check it out and take pictures.

If I remember correctly this should be a look downriver...

And here's a look at the opposite side...

At last - The majestic Chemerong waterfall

Having arrived at the foot of the main waterfall we started making comparisons by looking at a lower pool.

It is fed by a small waterfall.

Yet the small waterfall originated from the major one.

Just look at the size of the big cascade of water known as the Chemerong waterfall.

Let the pictures after attest to its majesty...

Chemerong waterfall - Almost there...

To tell you the truth the climb can be challenging especially since we (or maybe just me) were not that fit to begin with.

Besides we didn't have lunch yet but decided to press on after arriving at the Chemerong recreational forest without an open restaurant or stall in view.

Still what we lack in fitness and energy we made up with plenty of spirit.

Almost exactly after an hour of climb we started to see the fruit of our labour just like what the people down at the recreational forest office said... that is, it takes an hour to get to the foot of the major waterfall here...

Going up to the Chemerong waterfall

After riding for about another 12 km or so we arrived at the Chemerong recreational forest.

This is the gateway to the Chemerong waterfall.

From here one to has to walk and practically climb part of a mountain for about an hour.
