Going back to Makassar via Bone

On to the 9th day of the Makassar-Bugis trip...

Saturday afternoon 11th May 2013. After spending a night at Sengkang visiting some places around it's time to go back to Makassar.

This time we would be using a different route.

We did went through Soppeng using the same road to get to Sengkang on Friday. Refer The road from Tanete to Wajo, But after 27 km or so we took another road heading south.

The road would brought us through the district of Bone, once a powerful Bugis kingdom.

At this juncture we should be in Lamuru, a sub-district which was once a small kingdom under Bone.

We passed through some tight turnings as the road meandered through hills and highlands.

These seemed to alternate with plains...

Now I can't remember where this is. But I do know after some time we entered the district of Maros.

We made stop for a late lunch. View from the restaurant where we had our fill.

More beautiful countryside views beckon as the journey continues.

Soon it was too dark to take clear pictures.

Suffice to say we arrived in Makassar after 6 hours or so on the road...
