A quick look at Kuala Gula bird sanctuary

Continuing from A visit to Kuala Krau.

Crossing the bridge I soon came across the junction to Kuala Gula. The place is known for its bird sanctuary. I decided to have a look.

This is the sanctuary resort though.

To see the birds you have to take a boat and go to the mangrove swamp across...

I think it is sufficient to just enjoy the views.

At least I got to see one bird...

A visit to Kuala Krau

Continuing from The waters at Sungai Baru, Tanjung Piandang.

It seems to me there is not much to see at Tanjung Piandang. So I went on further to a place called Kuala Krau which means mouth (kuala) of the Krau river. There, I saw the river quite big near its estuary. So I tried to find a vantage point and found this jetty.

From here you can see the bridge crossing the Krau river.

To get a better view I decided to walk up the jetty...

On to the very end.

The river seems vast...

The waters at Sungai Baru, Tanjung Piandang

Peace be upon you all. Recently I made a trip to Pulau Pinang and Perak. Time to share on some of the places visited.

Monday 29th June 2015. After spending the night in Pulau Pinang then attending to a certain business in Seberang Perai I headed back south going through the state of Perak. Then I saw the junction to Tanjung Piandang, a place I can't remember ever visiting before. I decided to take it and after some time saw a road leading to a water front.

It was at a place called Sungai Baru.

It overlooks the Straits of Melaka.

For a better look I walked to this part.

There, looking from the tip of the said part right to left going anti-clockwise...
