Around the night market of Siem Reap

Continuing from Siem Reap by tuk tuk.

We were dropped at and area close to the night market of Siem Reap.

Apparently these parts are popular tourists haunt...

As dusk gave way to night colourful lights began to spung up...

A firework show grabbed the attention of everyone...

We then continue to explore the surroundings...

Siem Reap by tuk tuk

Have I told you that we moved around using local land transport known as the tuk tuk?

Well, we did. We started renting one the minute we stepped out of the airport.

From Phnom Krom we headed for the centre of Siem Reap city.

The tuk tuk is a very convenient way to travel and enjoy wide vistas from every angle...

The driver then dropped us a certain part for walking around...

Views of Tonle Sap from Phnom Krom

Continuing from Access to Tonle Sap.

About 2 km north of the access area to Tonle Sap lies what seemed to be the only hill for as far as the eyes could see.

I was told its name is Phnom Krom. Looking at a staircase leading up I decided to make a climb...

Looking behind halfway or so up the staircase...

End of staircase...

But there was still a distance to reach the summit.

However I was only allowed to climb just about halfway up...

This is because there is an ancient temple on top and foreigners like me must have an Angkor Wat pass to access.

Never mind that, I asked for some time to take in the views from this height.

Enough that I was able to see the vast lake of Tonle Sap in the background...
