New look of the Bagan Datuk jetty

Continuing from Perak river from the floating mosque of Bagan Datuk

Actually much development has happened in Bagan Datuk over the last two years making the town look more touristy. Among the places that has received significant facelift is the jetty.

Previously it looks like any common jetty made primarily for fishing and fishermen. Look at the old article The Perak river mouth at Bagan Datoh made in 2009.

Now it looks like a tourist jetty to get to a resort island, almost like the Lumut jetty to get to Pangkor Island. Look at Misty views from the Lumut ferry terminal jetty which is from last year.

Continuing from New bridge across Perak river to Bagan Datuk.

Around 10.30 am we arrived at the town of Bagan Datuk where lies this new floating mosque.

After entering the mosque I went to what should be the furthest extended open part overlooking the Perak river.

With the naked eye could be seen the new bridge across the river about 7.2 km directly from here.

The river is about 1.61 km wide around here.

New bridge across Perak river to Bagan Datuk

Continuing from Sungai Dinding from Lumut waterfront again.

From Lumut we took the road to Teluk Intan where soon could be seen a new bridge across the Perak river (see the middle of this picture).

We took the  bridge which was just opened on 1st June, two days earlier.

It is now the bridge closest to the Perak river mouth.

Previously the closest bridge was near Teluk Intan, some 19 km by road upstream from here.

At a span of 1.5 km this is the longest bridge across the Perak river.

Connecting to Bagan Datuk it cuts the distance from Lumut by 46 km!

Sungai Dinding from Lumut waterfront again

Continuing from New visit to the leaning tower of Teluk Intan.

Saturday 3rd June 2023. After spending the night in Kampung Temong, Kuala Kangsar then making stops in places like Kota Lama Kanan, Sayong, Manong and Beruas we arrived at the town of Lumut.

Lumut has always been an attractive place to visit.

This time I found this new signage at its waterfront.

Looking at Sungai Dinding, the wide Dinding river from the waterfront...

For the record the last time I was here was in September 2022. Look at the article Dusk at a regular part of Lumut waterfront.

New visit to the leaning tower of Teluk Intan

Continuing from The tower of Batak Rabit old mosque.

Next I brought the book to the leaning tower of Teluk Intan.

Then we enter.

As it turned out the exhibits or information inside is more eye-catching and organised compared to the last time we entered years ago.

Going to the top floor accessible by visitors...

A higher level is off limits.

Looking around for views of the town of Teluk Intan...
