New visit to Jugra hill viewing point

Peace be upon you all. Yesterday I've just completed a trip to the south which took 8 days and 7 nights. Now let's start sharing stories.

The trip was started Sunday afternoon 22nd December 2024 by bringing the wife and kids heading towards Tanjung Sepat. Stopped by at Jugra hill to get to its viewing point.

I have been here many times, often with the family.

We never get tired of the open wide vistas...

Venturing to the end of a rural road along the Selangor river

Continuing from New visit to Selangor river reservoir.

Later in the afternoon I went to check out a certain rural road at another part of Kuala Kubu Bharu.

It runs close to the Selangor river before the reservoir.

I have never been to these parts before...

And so decided to venture till the end of the rural road.

It leads to a resort and camping site of sorts...

New visit to Selangor river reservoir

Peace be upon you. Just something from over a week ago.

Monday 28th October 2024. After settling some matters at the town of Kuala Kubur Bharu I went to the Selangor reservoir a few kilometres to the east.

I have been here many times before.

Just can't remember when was the last time.

It is just this time I found it more scenic, maybe because some growth which used to partly block the views have been cleared.

Going up Bukit 300 in Lumut - Part II

Continuing from Going up Bukit 300 in Lumut.

There is more to climb after the highest pylon.

Along the way I went up and down two peaks which according to the contour map in the hiking apps are above 320 metres high from sea level.

This is about the same height as the highest peak designated as Bukit 300.

It is upon arriving at a junction with this signboard that I realised I have passed what is designated as the 3rd peak first followed by the 2nd peak. This is because I started from a southern side of the hills instead of the popular path from Teluk Batik which is close to the north.

Soon my apps showed I have arrived at Bukit 300.

Bukit 300 simply means Peak of 300 metre high from sea level. This signboard confirmed I have arrived.

So did this signboard.

Another signboard says the peak is actually 325 metres above sea level. The designation Bukit 300 is  just a simplication of the fact.

Along the way to return to where I started did I only noticed that the other two peaks are also marked with its own signboards.

Earlier I only noticed the words saying "permanent reserved jungle" in Malay. I failed to noticed the words "Peak 2" and "Peak 3" above the big signboards.

Going up Bukit 300 in Lumut

Peace be upon you. On to the 3rd day of the recent Perak trip.

Monday morning 21st October 2024. After spending the night at the Lumut main mosque I headed for the hill designated as Bukit 300.

I wanted to climb to its peak via a path I caught sight of about a year ago.

With the help of Google Map and a hiking trail apps I managed to find the trailhead and follow through.

But then I found the trail ends at this pylon.

Checking the hiking trail apps I found that I have overshoot a junction. I retraced my steps and got back on the right trail.

Soon I reached the highest pylon.

Look around from under the pylon...
