Bringing a son by bike to Tasik Widuri

Peace be upon you. Just something from end of last year.

Monday 30th December 2024. I brought a son my bike to Kuala Kubu. On the way home stopped by at the lake called Tasik Widuri in Bukit Beruntung.

That's the son. The last time I brought him anywhere on that bike was more than 3 years ago.

I have shown this lake a number of times in this blogspot.

But the platform here was not as big as this then...

Now it extends much further on water giving better views of the surroundings...

Checking out (again) my alma mater in Kluang

Continuing from Climbing up Gunung Lambak with sons - Part II.

After having lunch at the old railway station of Kluang then Friday prayers at the main mosque we headed for my alma mater, Sekolah Menengah Sains Johor (science secondary school of Johor).

Thank God we were allowed in.

I am lucky that I have gotten in for visits a number of times.

However, the last time was over 4 years ago.

Climbing up Gunung Lambak with sons - Part II

Continuing from Climbing up Gunung Lambak with sons.

The peak designated as the 2nd of Gunung Lambak stood at 470 meter above sea level. After spending some time there we headed to the taller 1st peak.

After climbing down the very steep path taken to get to the lower peak we took a relatively easy but longer walk. 

After some time only that the path got steep. Even then perhaps not even half as steep as the path taken to get up the lower peak.

Soon we could see this hut besides a transmission tower...

We have arrived the 1st and highest peak.

Standing at 510 meter tall above sea level this is actually the same height as the famous Hollywood hill with its big signage in the United States...

Climbing up Gunung Lambak with sons

Peace be upon you. On to the 6th day of the southern trip.

Friday morning 27th December 2024. I brought my two son to climb up Gunung Lambak.

I've first climbed it as a 13-year-old scout in 1983.

My second climb was with secondary school classmates in 1985.

My last climb was alone during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadhan early 1998. I was then on a Peninsular Malaysia solo big bike round trip.

The mountain has two peaks. We aimed for what is designated as the 2nd peak.

I have brought the kids many times to climb hills. But this is the first time they follow to one high enough to be recognised as a mountain. For the record this is the 2,555th article in this blogspot.
