Continuing from Climbing up Bukit Asa near Tanjung Malim - Part I.

Continuing the climb up further...

There is a viewing point said to be situated at 234 meters above sea level...

Still there was some more climb to do.

Finally the highest summit.

I have passed a slightly lower summit before this.

The highest is marked at 266 metres from sea level.

Continuing from Climbing up Bukit Batu Pahat near Kuala Kubu - Part II.

Later in the afternoon I went a bit out of the town of Tanjung Malim to look for another trailhead.

This one leads to a hill called Bukit Asa, or Bukit Changkat Asa.

I have to cross the Bernam river which is the natural border between the states of Perak and Selangor.

That is Bukit Asa. My approach via Tanjung Malim is from the state of Perak. But the hill itself is in the state of Selangor.

It is just the hiking trail is more approachable from the Perak side.

Soon the actual climb was started...

After some time I  came across trees with red bark.

A check via a hiking Apps shows this starts at 160 metres above sea level.

The trees are of a species called Gelam Merah.

The climb to get to the summit of Bukit Batu Pahat was continued...

After some time I came across this platform...

It is already almost at the summit.

Views from the platform...

On to the summit.

Situated at 426 meters about sea level it has a huge clear surface to accommodate the activity of paragliding.

This leads to wide open vistas and superb views of the surroundings...
