A late night stop at the foot of Gunung Jerai
Peace be upon you. Me and family have just finished a new trip to southern Thailand. Time to share some stories beginning with this.
The trip was official started when we left our house by car after 10.20 pm, Friday 4th April 2025. Just after 2.30 am, Saturday 5th April we made a stop at the part of the foot of Gunung (mount) Jerai where the road leading to summit starts.
There are a number of monuments built to mark the significance of this place.
Among it is for the southern end of the canal built under the supervision of Wan Mat Saman who was the Prime Minister of the state of Kedah in the 19th century AD.
It has been some years since I came here.
Now there is also a museum dedicated to Wan Mat Saman...
