Pantai Merdeka at night

After that visit to Tanjung Dawai we went to Merbok where lies an archeological museum before visiting the tomb of Kedah's Sultan Muzaffar Shah I. Then we have to head to Sungai Petani before we could get to Kota Kuala Muda where lies the remains of the gate of an old Malay fort.

Near the gate there's also a bit of the fort's other remains.

Then we stopped at Kota Kuala Muda's old mosque.

From Kota Kuala Muda we went to the beach called Pantai Merdeka.

Oh have I told you this visit was made on the night of 30th August 2010?

Well, they were preparing to celebrate Malaysia's independence day 31th August...

As the clock ticked to midnight for the celebration we walked alongside the beach.

But we didn't stay for long as we wanted to get to the island of Pulau Pinang. Here's Tanjung Dawai or what could be seen of it from Pantai Merdeka at night.
