A part of the river Ibai close to its mouth

Continued from A look around the beach called Pantai Pandak.

Next we went to this river.

It is called Sungai (river of) Ibai and this part is close to the mouth where lies a famous 'floating' white mosque.

A look across. According to our friends there used to be an ancient harbour here...

Now there's just a small jetty.

Let's have a better look from the jetty.

Another look to the river mouth.

Another ahead...

And one upriver...

Note to myself : The section "Fascination with rivers" on the right sidebar of this blogspot currently lists 30 rivers in Peninsular Malaysia. Once this East Coast trip series is completed must add 3 more rivers - Sungai Golok, Sungai Pengkalan Datu and Sungai Ibai... or Sungai Marang instead of Sungai Ibai? Will consider later.
