The iron ore mines of Bukit Besi

Peace be upon you all. It's been almost 3 weeks since I've made any story on my 27 Sept-1 Oct East Coast big bike trip with a friend. Today we're moving to the 5th day which is actually the last day of travel.

Monday 1st October 2012. Circumstances forced us to spend part of the night at a settlement called Bukit Besi which means the iron hill.

Earlier at night we were forced to spent some time at the mosque of Kampung Gemuruh, near Kuala Terengganu... after I found that most of my clean clothes were rather wet after we rode through heavy rain from the state of Kelantan.

After somet ime exposing the clothes under heavy wind from the mosque's fans while we slept, I managed to get a good pair to wear to continue the journey through a newly-opened highway. Our next destination means we have to exit near Bukit Besi, a place named so because it is said to have plenty of iron ore deposits.

But upon exitting there I found out my fuel was low while the gas stations were closed. So we have to lodge at the closest mosque while waiting to fill up.

The small town of Bukit Besi came into being because of the iron deposits.

Here are some information...
