Pusaka KL's function at Akademi Kenegaraan

Sharing something from last weekend.

Saturday 13th December 2014 me and family went to the Akademi Kenegaraan building at Jalan Bellamy, Kuala Lumpur to attend a function.

It was held by a Malay NGO called Pusaka KL.

Originally it is a group of keris enthusiasts and collector, the Malay traditional wavy blade. But in time they covered other sort of weapons and went to to advocate to cover other aspects of Malay traditional culture.

Thus talks on Malay civilisation have been held by the group. When I came in it was on the origin of the Malays being traditionally from this part of the world, South East Asia that is. Then we move on to modern hisotry, how people from other parts of the world, mainly China and India came in to form modern Malaysia as we know it now.

Some of the things revealed are considered sensitive because of the current multi-ethnic multi-cultural composition of Malaysia. But the truth is there were sinister attempts by the British colonialists to dilute the importance of the Malays, its true civilisational achievements and culture when they bring out non-Malays in huge numbers to inhabit this land of opportunity...
