Bringing the kids and friends to the tomb of Hamzah Fansuri

We left Pulau (island of) Weh by 2 pm ferry to get back to mainland Aceh. From the jetty we stopped by at a nearby mosque then headed for a place called Ujong Pancu.

It is situated at the end of a peninsular jutting out from north-wested end of Sumatera/ Then we found out part of the road leading to Ujong Pancu was broken making it inaccessible to cars.

We decided to continue by foot. It is the wish of a Malaysian friend to visit a tomb situated in the jungle there.

Me on the other hand has been to the said tomb twice. The last time was in early 2015 with some Acehnese friends.

My wife and one of our kids were with me in the first visit end of 2011.

She was then almost 7-months pregnant with our youngest boy, the one seen to the left with his 2 years 4 months older brother.

Luckily it was not too far before we reached the end of the road.

From the end of the road we have to take a jungle path.

Soon we reached the tomb of Hamzah Fansuri,..

He was a famous 17th century Aceh saint and a sage famous in the whole Malay world for his many Sufistic writings...

Close look at Danau Aneuk Laot

Continuing from The beach at Teluk Iboih.

We left Teluk Iboih at around 11.30 and headed back toward Sabang town. Just before the town's western fringe we took a slip road to the south.

The road runs beside the lake called Danau Aneuk Laot, the one shown from an uphill vantage point in the article Looking at Danau Aneuk Laot and its surroundings from a vantage point presented 2 days ago.

Now it's jusr a matter of finding the path leading to the lakeside where the views are not blocked by buildings and such.

The lake, Danau Aneuk Laot...

It is a beauty deserving merits on its own...

The beach at Teluk Iboih

Continuing from Views from the Km 0 tower.

After we're done at Kilometer Nol we headed back south-east toward Sabang town making a stop at one of Pulau (island of) Weh's main attractions.

Welcome to the beach of Teluk Teupin Iboih.

Facing an island called Pulau Rubiah famous for snorkelling activities this beach is also known as Teluk Iboih or Pantai Iboih...

Views from the Km 0 tower

Looking back at the Kilometer 0 sign I found the tower behind 'calling'.

I don't know if it was a recently-built structure or an old one being renovated. I can't resist answering the 'call' even though it was restricted to public.

So there I was finding the way to get up...

Finding only one level of platform I started taking in the views from right to left...
