Walking in Ayutthaya

Peace be upon you all. On to the 6th day of the Thailand trip 12-23 December.

Sunday morning 17th December 2017. My car has travelled more than 720 km the previous day.

This is the scene from a quiet part of the city of Ayutthaya. It is situated about 80 km north of Thailand's capital city, Bangkok.

A check with Google Map taking into account the cities and town we have stopped at the last few days shows that we  have travelled 1,820 km since leaving home.

But that is omitting all the intercity/intertown travelling made during that period. The car's meter showed we have travelled close to 2,000 km.

Anyway here's walking around for a piece of Ayutthaya.

For the record it used to be capital city of the kingdom of Ayutthaya from 1350 to 1767 AD...

Here I was just exploring the parts near to a mosque called the Thai-Pakistan mosque where we lodged for rest...

It is a small part at the north-east corner of what used to be the old walled city of Ayutthaya...
