The route from Durian Burung to Patani town

Peace be upon you all. Recently me and family made a trip to Patani in southern Thailand 19-25 March. Today let me sharing stories on the trip.

Journey was started Monday afternoon 19th March 2018 when we went to Ipoh, Perak for a function then spent the night at Langgar, Alor, Setar, Kedah. The following day we entered Thailand via the Durian Burung entry point...

We had a hassle regarding a document with the Thai custom and that cost us some time and money. Nevertheless we got through. Here's how the road looks after we were officially in Thailand.

We were aiming to go to the town of Yala first, more than 100 km fom the border.

But because of GPS problem we missed the early junction to Yala and just followed what seemed to be the main road going east towards Patani.

We just followed what seemed to be the logical route and enjoyed the views.

While there were problems with my GPS navigation system the map was functioning up to a certain level. We could still ascertain our position on the map. It's just we could not rely on the system to plot the best route to any place...

Soon we started coming into the many road blocks which are common in the Malay majority parts of southern Thailand.

And soon we entered the province of Patani...

But it was still a distance to get to Patani town...

After a while we came across a signboard indicating we were about 20 km to Patani town, also 20 km to Yala but towards opposing sides...

Since it was already late we decided to get on to Patani town and forget Yala.

After making a stop at a mosque for prayers we arrived in town at dusk...
