A more meaningful look of the Perak river at Batak Rabit

On to the 4th and last day of the recent Perak trip.

Tuesday morning 18th April 2023. Having spent the night at the family heritage mosque in Batak Rabit I then proceeded to the nearby jetty facing the Perak river.

I have been here many times and have shown the views around in this blogspot.

However this time it is more meaningful.

I have spent the last few months studying Perak history of over the last few centuries and the importance of certain locations. Batak Rabit used to be the residence of the Sultan or ruler of Perak from 1874 till 1876.

It was only 2-3 months ago that I realised the family mosque directly faced a cape which I found used to be known as Tanjung Medan....

Zooming it directly to the cape. Of course it looks just like another riverside landmass. But you could clearly see it as a cape in Google Map.

To the east lies another cape which used to be known as Tanjung Putus.

There used to be a Dutch fort build in the middle of the 18th century AD there.
