Around Masjidil Haram 2026

Peace be upon you. On to the third day of the umrah trip.

Upon  arrival at Jeddah from Istanbul early Wednesday morning 11th February 2026 immediately rushed to Mecca. Before Subuh (dawn prayers) headed to Masjidil Haram and spent time inside till after sun rise. Then went out to savour the views around.

When I last arrived, with the wife in 2013 most of the buildings around, including parts of Masjidil Haram itself was still either under construction or renovation. Look at these old articles :-

Much has changed giving a more modern look and facade.
