The waters off Brunei's Lumut

Continued from Family kenduri at Seria. This is the 616th article in this blogspot. Come... :]

Later in the afternoon we checked out the beach which is situated at a walking distance behind the house.

Lo and behold the open waters of South China Sea (again?), this time from a place quite a distance out of Bandar Seri Begawan.

OK. While this beach is part of the district or province called Seria the actual nearby area is called Lumut with the town of Seria still a good 10 km or so away.

It is interesting to note that this is the second place I know anywhere to be called Lumut. The first is Malaysia's Lumut which is famous for its naval base and jetty to the popular tourist destination and island called Pulau Pangkor.

However this Lumut in Brunei is more noted for its oil rigging activities.

It is part of a long stretch of land and sea around Seria which makes Brunei very wealthy and well-known for its oil and petroleum.
