Views around the causeway from the train

Time to start a small series in my Malay blogspot CATATAN SI MERAH SILU, on a travel made to Singapura by train over a month ago. And as usual supporting articles would be made here starting with this...

OK. I've been across the causeway connecting the Malaysian state of Johor to the island republic of Singapura (excuse me for refusing to use the Anglicised name Singapore) many times. But as far as I could remember this is the first time on train. A look to the back and you can see the Johor city of Johor Bahru in the background.

So of course I relish looking at the sights from the train. A look to the west, the Straits of Tebrau.

A look ahead and Singapura looms nearer. Now let's look from the left side of the train...

From this side you can better see the high-rise flats at Singapura's northern residential area, Woodlands.

A look to the east. The port of Pasir Gudang should be somewhere in the background.

A look back towards Johor Bahru. These parts of the state capital is not as developed as the parts seen in the first picture. I remember when I was small it is not even considered part of Johor Bahru which was then only a town albeit the biggest one in Johor.
