Finally. The Beruas river estuary

From Pengkalan Baru I went to the town of Pantai Remis looking for the estuary of the Beruas river.

I have reached somewhere close by a few years ago only to learn that I have yet to arrive at the actual estuary.

Two years ago I tried looking for the estuary again only to find that I have overshoot it by more than a kilometre to the south. Then my wife was already tired of me for making too much forays and stops to look for things. So I had to move on. Look at the old article Looking for Beruas river estuary behind the hills of Segari.

You see while the Beruas river estuary is quite near to the town of Pantai Remis, the road leading to it is quite tricky.

So imagine my delight upon finding out, this time I was on the right track.

This time I could see clearly how the waters of the Beruas river join the sea.

Waiting for this boat to move out for a clearer perspective...

A look upriver.

A look across.

And a look into the open sea... or rather, the Straits of Melaka.
