The colours at Tok Kenali mosque

After taking a dip at the waterfall we headed for Kota Bahru and made a stop at this mosque.

It is part of a complex of pondok or traditional Islamic school system established by Tok Kenali, a famous Kelantanese religious master. Said to be a major saint he lived from 1868 till 1933.

There is a small museum of sorts dedicated to him...

A drawing of Tok Kenali inside the 'museum'.

A recently built hall and classroom complex for the pondok...

The school was ran by his children then descendants. One son established this mosque.

Signboards and posters on Tok Kenali, his offsprings and their teachings make the place rather colourful...

For the record the mosque has been a place for me to meditate at and escape from the madness of life quite a number of times...
