Visiting Gunung Stong waterfalls after more than 6 years

Peace be upon you all. As it is at this time I am approaching the end of my first travel for the year 2017. The travel has covered a number of places in southern Thailand, north of Peninsular Malaysia and parts towards the East Coast. Let me start sharing stories on some of the places visited.

The travel was started Thursday 12th January 2017 at night. Driving with two females friends from Kuala Lumpur we rest at Jelawang in Dabong, Kelantan where lies the above giant waterfall.

We headed for the waterfall the following day Friday morning. To get there one must pass the grounds of a chalet resort.

The last time I came here was at the end of 2010. Look at the old article The Jelawang waterfall at Gunung (mount) Stong from many angles

While I'd like to hike and climb up all the way to the giant waterfall we didn't have enough time and had to reserve energy for further travel. So we went up only to this part.

Still it has a fairly big waterfall...

The waters around also look alluring enough...

And from the right angle you can catch sight of the giant waterfall.

A close up look. See how the waters connect.
