Simpang Tujuh - The seven junctions

Peace be upon you. On to the 7th day of the 16th-23rd March Aceh trip.

Wednesday morning 22nd March 2017. Upon returning from Perlak and other outstation visits we spent the night at a homestay in Ulee Kareng. It is located at the eastern fringe of Banda Aceh.

From the homestay we walked to the centre of Ulee Kareng. This is marked by a place or portion of road called Simpang Tujuh,  the seven junctions.

It is called so because this is where seven roads meet and can be easily accessed. Let me mark this as road one.

Road or junction two.

The bigger road three.

So is also road four.

Road five is small.

The bigger road six.

And small road seven. The locals are rather proud with the seven junctions. Despite the fact that there is no traffic light things are orderly here and there has been no accident. For the record these pictures were taken at around 9.43 am. So it was not busy yet.
