Visit to site of Beruas ancient harbour

Continuing from Group visit to Beruas museum...

After we're done at the museum we moved to the opposite side of town on to this school.

It leads to another school...

That's where we parked our cars.

Guided by some locals we then walked towards the school's field.

We were told the field was part of a wide ancient river. And the harbour of Beruas was situated here.

Geographical changes, silting and such caused the river to become obsolete. It then turned into swamp which later was filled with soil and turn into a field.

But a remnant from those era still exists just outside the compound of the school.

It stays in the form of a lake which locals claimed can't be filled or dried up. Look at the article Tasik (Lake of) Mani Dendang in the blogspot SENI LAMA MELAYU (MALAY OLDEN ART).
