This blogspot is a medium to share my thoughts and adventures apart from promoting my books. Below are the books which have been written or authored and published by myself.

"Berpetualang ke Aceh: Mencari Diri dan Erti".

ISBN 983-42031-0-1, Jun 2006

"Berpetualang ke Aceh: Membela Syiar yang Asal"

ISBN 983-42031-1-x, May 2007

"Berpetualang ke Aceh: Sirih Pulang ke Gagang?"

ISBN 978-983-42031-2-2, November 2007

It is interesting to note that while these books were written in Malay it has gained enough attention to merit being part of the collections of the American Library of Congress and National Library of Australia. Look here and here.

While the first three books were published by my own company, the fourth titled "Rumah Azan" was published in April 2009 by a company called Karnadya with the help of the Malaysian national literary body Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka. It features beautiful pictures along with stories behind selected mosques which could be related to the history of Islam and the Malays alongside the formation of the Malaysian nation. Look at the article A collaboration of old collegemates - the book "Rumah Azan".

My fifth book "Ahlul Bait (Family) of Rasulullah SAW and Malay Sultanates", an English translation and adaptation of the Malay book "Ahlul Bait (Keluarga) Rasulullah SAW dan Kesultanan Melayu" authored by Hj Muzaffar Mohamad and Tun Suzana Othman was published early 2010. Look here... My 5th book is out! Ahlul Bait (Family) of Rasulullah SAW and the Malay Sultanates... . For more information check out my Malay blogspot CATATAN SI MERAH SILU.

Like my fourth book "Rumah Azan", the sixth book "Kereta Api Menuju Destinasi" is also a coffee-table book which is published by the company Karnadya with the cooperation of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (the main Malay literary body in Malaysia). Coming out January 2011 it features pictures and stories on the adventure travelling by train to all of Peninsular Malaysia along with the interesting places which could be reached this way.

My seventh book "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah" in turn is a coffee-table book which is written, editted, designed and has pictures taken by me. Coming out of the factory October 2011, this book which combines family history with history of places such as Singapura, Johor, Batu Pahat, Muar and in fact the history of the island of Java and England has been reviewed with me interviewed live in the program Selamat Pagi Malaysia at RTM1. Look at the article Siaran langsung ulasan buku "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah" dan temu ramah di Selamat Pagi Malaysia. Some selected contents have been featured in Sneak peek "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah".

Spending time at Bukit Tunku looking point

Peace be upon you. From yesterday afternoon...

Friday 4th October 2024. After attending a function at ISTAC (International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilisation) in the hilly area of Bukit Tunku I went to another part of the hills.

This is a part designated as the Bukit Tunku looking point.

I first know about this place just under a year ago.  Look at the following old articles :-

Since then I have been here many times to enjoy the atmosphere and views...

Climbing up Bukit Lanjan - Part II

Continuing from Finally, climbing up Bukit Lanjan.

There are still higher areas than the one previously seen.

Finally, arrived at the structure marking the peak  of Bukit Lanjan.

I arrived at 6.18, after spending more than 20 minutes at the previous significant point waiting for a sudden rain to subside.

At 6.38 I started going down via a different trail.

Like when climbing up there were parts which I found hard to discern the trail but no as bad.

Still in the jungle when this picture was taken at 7.01.

It was only at 7.13 that I could see the apartment I passed by on the way up.

At 7.14 saw the tarred road ahead. Then only I could say am safely out.

Finally, climbing up Bukit Lanjan

Peace be upon you. Something very recent.

Tuesday afternoon 1st October 2024, after weeks of postponing due to unforeseen circumstances, I finally decided to go and climb the hill called Bukit Lanjan.

I have studied the available trails on the Internet since earlier September and have gone to survey the area at less twice.

I decided to start from a trail behind these bushes.

I entered at around 5.

That to me should give sufficient time to arrive at the peak at over 300 metres above sea level and then arrive back down before dark.

What was unexpected is the condition of the trail is obscured at many junctures due to fallen trees and growths.

Luckily I managed to get back on trail each time after at least 3 times losing track at 3 different junctures.

But that took some time as I have to cut through thick growths.

At 5.43 I arrived at this concrete road leading to telecommunications towers towards the peak.

At this juncture there is no fear of getting lost...

This picture was taken at 5.50 indicating I have arrived at a significant point of the hill.
