This blogspot is a medium to share my thoughts and adventures apart from promoting my books. Below are the books which have been written or authored and published by myself.

"Berpetualang ke Aceh: Mencari Diri dan Erti".

ISBN 983-42031-0-1, Jun 2006

"Berpetualang ke Aceh: Membela Syiar yang Asal"

ISBN 983-42031-1-x, May 2007

"Berpetualang ke Aceh: Sirih Pulang ke Gagang?"

ISBN 978-983-42031-2-2, November 2007

It is interesting to note that while these books were written in Malay it has gained enough attention to merit being part of the collections of the American Library of Congress and National Library of Australia. Look here and here.

While the first three books were published by my own company, the fourth titled "Rumah Azan" was published in April 2009 by a company called Karnadya with the help of the Malaysian national literary body Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka. It features beautiful pictures along with stories behind selected mosques which could be related to the history of Islam and the Malays alongside the formation of the Malaysian nation. Look at the article A collaboration of old collegemates - the book "Rumah Azan".

My fifth book "Ahlul Bait (Family) of Rasulullah SAW and Malay Sultanates", an English translation and adaptation of the Malay book "Ahlul Bait (Keluarga) Rasulullah SAW dan Kesultanan Melayu" authored by Hj Muzaffar Mohamad and Tun Suzana Othman was published early 2010. Look here... My 5th book is out! Ahlul Bait (Family) of Rasulullah SAW and the Malay Sultanates... . For more information check out my Malay blogspot CATATAN SI MERAH SILU.

Like my fourth book "Rumah Azan", the sixth book "Kereta Api Menuju Destinasi" is also a coffee-table book which is published by the company Karnadya with the cooperation of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (the main Malay literary body in Malaysia). Coming out January 2011 it features pictures and stories on the adventure travelling by train to all of Peninsular Malaysia along with the interesting places which could be reached this way.

My seventh book "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah" in turn is a coffee-table book which is written, editted, designed and has pictures taken by me. Coming out of the factory October 2011, this book which combines family history with history of places such as Singapura, Johor, Batu Pahat, Muar and in fact the history of the island of Java and England has been reviewed with me interviewed live in the program Selamat Pagi Malaysia at RTM1. Look at the article Siaran langsung ulasan buku "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah" dan temu ramah di Selamat Pagi Malaysia. Some selected contents have been featured in Sneak peek "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah".

Putrajaya from the PICC

Continuing the storytelling from Bringing the parents for MRT ride to Kajang.

My parents along with my brother and an uncle were in the Klang valley because I had brought them from Muar to spend a few nights at my house in Rawang.  Wednesday 9th August it's time to send them back to Muar.

On the way we made a stop in Putrajaya. My brother who at 45 is two years younger than me has never seen the splendour of this city.

He said the last time he ever stepped around here was in 1997. At that time Putrajaya was still largely a palm oil plantation being turned into a new city.

So I brought him along with the parents for a good look. Oh  the uncle which I had also brought from Muar had returned a day earlier by bus.

I have been to Putrajaya many times but that was the first time I myself enjoyed the scenery from a certain vantage point.

This was from in front of the PICC, Putrajaya International Convention Centre,

A look at the PICC from the bridge down...

A view of Putrajaya  lake from the bridge.

On for further views of the city before heading back to Muar...

Bringing the parents for MRT ride to Kajang

Peace be upon you. On to the August file of activities...

Thursday afternoon 8th August I brought the parents to try a new facility in the Klang valley. Tagging along were a brother of mine and an uncle

We're going for a ride on the MRT, the Mass Rapid Transit starting from Sungai Buloh. They have never been on board.

Me on the other hand has tried this service a few times end of last year.

But at that time the project and the route was just half-completed. Look at these old articles :-

It was fully completed some time in July, I've forgotten the actual date.

If before it covers only stations from Sungai Buloh to Semantan (at Bukit Damansara) now it also goes underground for stations around Kuala Lumpur city centre before emerging back above ground to head south on to Kajang.

A look ahead as we went underground.

A look after we have emerged above ground somewhere around Cheras...

Going out at the Stadium Kajang station...

On the way back to Sungai Buloh we made a stop at Bukit Bintang to enjoy the scenery there...

'Full house' at Hulu Selangor reservoir

Peace be upon you all. Just breaking the over 3 months of silence in this blogspot. That is, after posting the article Pahang river from Kuala Bera on 10th March...

Sunday 30th July 2017. After spending a night at Tanjung Malim I brought the family to Kuala Kubu Baru and decided to press on further to the Hulu Selangor reservoir.

We have been here quite a number of times.

But as far as I could remember over the last 3-4 years its been a while since the reservoir was full.

As far as I could remember over that period of time water were rather scarce.

The surface levels were often 10 metres lower or so than could be seen in the recent visit...

So what a pleasant suprise to be able to see the reservour at 'full house' after quite a long while...
