This blogspot is a medium to share my thoughts and adventures apart from promoting my books. Below are the books which have been written or authored and published by myself.

"Berpetualang ke Aceh: Mencari Diri dan Erti".

ISBN 983-42031-0-1, Jun 2006

"Berpetualang ke Aceh: Membela Syiar yang Asal"

ISBN 983-42031-1-x, May 2007

"Berpetualang ke Aceh: Sirih Pulang ke Gagang?"

ISBN 978-983-42031-2-2, November 2007

It is interesting to note that while these books were written in Malay it has gained enough attention to merit being part of the collections of the American Library of Congress and National Library of Australia. Look here and here.

While the first three books were published by my own company, the fourth titled "Rumah Azan" was published in April 2009 by a company called Karnadya with the help of the Malaysian national literary body Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka. It features beautiful pictures along with stories behind selected mosques which could be related to the history of Islam and the Malays alongside the formation of the Malaysian nation. Look at the article A collaboration of old collegemates - the book "Rumah Azan".

My fifth book "Ahlul Bait (Family) of Rasulullah SAW and Malay Sultanates", an English translation and adaptation of the Malay book "Ahlul Bait (Keluarga) Rasulullah SAW dan Kesultanan Melayu" authored by Hj Muzaffar Mohamad and Tun Suzana Othman was published early 2010. Look here... My 5th book is out! Ahlul Bait (Family) of Rasulullah SAW and the Malay Sultanates... . For more information check out my Malay blogspot CATATAN SI MERAH SILU.

Like my fourth book "Rumah Azan", the sixth book "Kereta Api Menuju Destinasi" is also a coffee-table book which is published by the company Karnadya with the cooperation of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (the main Malay literary body in Malaysia). Coming out January 2011 it features pictures and stories on the adventure travelling by train to all of Peninsular Malaysia along with the interesting places which could be reached this way.

My seventh book "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah" in turn is a coffee-table book which is written, editted, designed and has pictures taken by me. Coming out of the factory October 2011, this book which combines family history with history of places such as Singapura, Johor, Batu Pahat, Muar and in fact the history of the island of Java and England has been reviewed with me interviewed live in the program Selamat Pagi Malaysia at RTM1. Look at the article Siaran langsung ulasan buku "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah" dan temu ramah di Selamat Pagi Malaysia. Some selected contents have been featured in Sneak peek "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah".

New attractions at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa

Last Sunday, 5th February 2020 I brought the family to the public park called Taman Tasik Titiwangsa just north outside of Kuala Lumpur city centre.

A big portion of the park was closed for renovation for more than a year. It was reopened about 2 months ago.

With that new attractions were opened including a canopy walk called the Laluan Banjaran (literarily route on mountain range)...

It is supposed to give a feel up Peninsular Malaysia's main mountain range, the Banjaran (range of) Titiwangsa...

Many parts of the park has been beautified.

Among the new attractions is this playground...

Leaving the wife and kids at the playground I decided to check out other parts of Taman Tasik Titiwangsa...

For the record it is centred around a lake which used to be a tin-mine...

Back to the playground...

It has a waterpark which is free and open for all...

Looking at a part of Sungai Buaya earmarked for a future development

Continuing from Small trip to Tanjung Malim with the youngest son. Back to my neighbourhood, the place called Sungai Buaya in Rawang.

OK. I have shown in this blogspot before some hills in my neighbourhood which I've climbed. Look at :-

This time I want to show the parts of Sungai Buaya to the west of my house.

While I have passed these parts many times this is the first time I decided to climb a small hill there.

This was on Monday afternoon 3rd February less than 2 weeks ago...

From the summit I looked around...

While these parts have always been open as far as I could remember since moving to Sungai Buaya in early 2014 it used to have some growth.

But these were cleared just about 2-3 months ago.

I was told there are plans to turn it into an industrial area particularly for manufacturing furniture...

Small trip to Tanjung Malim with the youngest son

Saturday morning 1st January which was about a week later I went again to Tanjung Malim, this time by bus.

And this time I brought only the youngest son.

Actually we wanted to take the Komuter train from Rawang.

But we missed a train and the next one was scheduled 3 hours later. So we opted for the bus...

Arriving at Tanjung Malim station at 11.13am.

Then we walked around town...

After some time we returned to the bus station. Here I was looking at bus to Ipoh schedule for a possible trip in the future.

We left Tanjung Malim in the afternoon by car though...

Actually the reason we went there by bus is to meet up with a mechanic coming from Ipoh. Our family car was still in his workshop there after a major breakdown in mid-December last year, so he came down to Tanjung Malim to bring a temporary replacement car...

On the way home we stopped by at Kerling to visit the tomb of a 19th century Malay warrior named Sayyid Mashahor...
