It is interesting to note that while these books were written in Malay it has gained enough attention to merit being part of the collections of the American Library of Congress and National Library of Australia. Look here and here.

While the first three books were published by my own company, the fourth titled "Rumah Azan" was published in April 2009 by a company called Karnadya with the help of the Malaysian national literary body Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka. It features beautiful pictures along with stories behind selected mosques which could be related to the history of Islam and the Malays alongside the formation of the Malaysian nation. My fifth book "Ahlul Bait (Family) of Rasulullah SAW and Malay Sultanates", an English translation and adaptation of the Malay book "Ahlul Bait (Keluarga) Rasulullah SAW dan Kesultanan Melayu" authored by Hj Muzaffar Mohamad and Tun Suzana Othman was published early 2010. Like my fourth book "Rumah Azan", the sixth book "Kereta Api Menuju Destinasi" is also a coffee-table book which is published by the company Karnadya with the cooperation of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (the main Malay literary body in Malaysia). Coming out January 2011 it features pictures and stories on the adventure travelling by train to all of Peninsular Malaysia along with the interesting places which could be reached this way.

My seventh book "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah" in turn is a coffee-table book which is written, editted, designed and has pictures taken by me. Coming out of the factory October 2011, this book which combines family history with history of places such as Singapura, Johor, Batu Pahat, Muar and in fact the history of the island of Java and England has been reviewed with me interviewed live in the program Selamat Pagi Malaysia at RTM1. Perak river over a kilometre south of Kinta estuary

Continuing from Jetty of the tomb of Sultan Shahabuddin.

Moving further south via a different entry from the main road I looked for the tomb of the 15th Sultan of Perak.

I have been to the tomb at least twice before. This time I overshot the last entry point.

I didn't realise it until I got to the end of another entry.

Looking at the size of the river in front I came to realise this is the Perak river.

The tomb on the other hand is situated close to the smaller Kinta river, a tributary of the Perak river.

A check with Google Earth shows this place is about 1.5 km south of the Kinta river estuary...

Next, I headed for the furthest reach in this part of Perak.

The aim is to get to the tomb of the 21st Sultan of Perak, Sultan Shahabuddin.

There is a jetty to get here too.

I have been here once before and the journey was made by boat.

Next I headed for the tomb of the 17th Sultan of Perak, Sultan Alauddin Mansur Iskandar Muda

Thank God the road leading here is also smooth.

And the jetty is situated right besides the tomb...

Continuing from Finally. Birch and minions got what they deserve.

From the graveyard I caught sight of an opening..

I went for a closer look and was greeted by a view of the Perak river.

Close-up. That looks like a familiar mosque. As far as I could remember I have visited every mosque on that side of the river, that is south of Pasir Salak. It's just I can't remember which one...

About half a kilometre or so from the mosque there lies this Christian graveyard.

It houses the graves of the first British resident to Perak, J.W.W. Birch and a few other British officers who were killed by the local Malays around 1875.

I have been here a number of times too and the last time was about 5 years ago.

I remembered the graveyard as very well-kept and that used to upset me. How can the graves of these colonialists who disturbed the peace of the locals be well kept when the tomb of a Perak Sultan nearby was in bad shape?

So imagine how I felt when finding out the condition of this graveyard in a recent visit.

Let's just say I think they got what they deserved. Put yourself in the shoes of a local populace whose land was violated by these buggers and hopefully you can understand my delight...

What fate awaits the old mosque at Teluk Memali?

Continuing from Jetty to the tomb of Sultan Abdul Malik Mansur Shah.

In order to get to the tomb from the jetty one has to pass by this abandoned building.

It is an old mosque which was last used in 1997 if not mistaken.

I have been here a number of times but this was my first time in more than 5 years or so.

It used to be in much better condition...

I was told that a certain group of art activists wanted to preserve it by removing the mosque to a university in Kuala Lumpur where it should be better taken care of.

You see, the area around here is prone to flood. So after some time the populace decided to move to better grounds quite a distance from here leaving the mosque unattended.
