After going to Rawang to get something done we decided to drive up north. But not so far. Our destination after Rawang was Kuala Kubu Baru and on the way we stopped by at this mosque, the old mosque of Ampang Pecah.
In fact I was told around here used to lie the original town of Kuala Kubu which got its name from the mouth (the Malay word is Kuala) of the river Kubu. But a dam nearby got burst and water flooded the area 80 years ago or so. So a new township was built on slightly higher ground and it is called Kuala Kubu Baru or new Kuala Kubu (Baru is the Malay word for new).
Meanwhile this area became known as Ampang Pecah (Ampang = dam, Pecah = burst).
The mosque's abolution pool. This mosque is a remnant from the days when this area was still known as Kuala Kubu.
Let's have a look inside.
