Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley from a condominium in Jalan Klang Lama

Continuing from First visit to the Kanching waterfalls in the MCO period.

That Saturday, 11th July 2020 we spent the night at a niece;s condominium in Jalan Klang Lama. The condo complex has an open garden area at its top floor. It gives wide views of the city of Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley.

For clearer views I went up again the following morning, Sunday 12th July...

Starting from eastward I turned bit by bit anti-clockwise and take pictures.

Here you can see the KL city centre towards the horizon.

Zooming in. However view of some iconic buildings are blocked by nearby buildings.

Here you can see the hill called Bukit Gasing which lies within the city of Petaling Jaya.

For the record parts of Jalan Klang Lama lies in KL, part in PJ. Our condo is within KL...

The next few pictures practically look to PJ...

For views of the south I went to the southern part of the open rooftop garden...

What lies ahead should be parts of Bukit Jalil which lies in KL.

From these parts you could see the iconic twin towers of KLCC and surrounding tall buildings.

A look down north-east towards the PJ side shows parts of the Klang river.

First visit to the Kanching waterfalls in the MCO period

Continuing mood of writing from  First visit to Janda Baik in 2020.

Tuesday 7th July 2020. While waiting for the wife to conclude a certain business at a clinic in Rawang I brought the kids to a rather nearby nature recreational area.

Welcome to the Kanching recreational forest. It is well known for its series of waterfalls.

We were told since the MCO (Movement Control Order) to curb the spread of Covid-19 virus was implented on 18th March this is the second day the forest was reopened to the public.

There were not much visitors then as it was also a weekday.  So get to have some peaceful time with little interference from mankind...

First visit to Janda Baik in 2020

Continuing from Views from the TM Bungalow at Fraser's Hill.

From Fraser's Hill we went to Raub. In the same afternoon we then headed back to the Klang Valley but made a stop at the highland area of Janda Baik and spent a night there. Sunday morning 5th July 2020 which was exactly a month ago we started to explore...

Janda Baik has always been one of our favourite area of visit. But this was the first time we arrived in the year 2020.

We could see many visitors from outside flocking to the stalls for breakfast. For the record it was less than a month when the MCO (Movement Control Order) to curb the spread of Covid-19 virus in Malaysia was relaxed allowing interstate travel.

Janda Baik is situated only half an hour travel from Klang Valley and the city of Kuala Lumpur. But it is part of the state of Pahang. Thus people from other states can't go there until the MCO which started on 18th March was relaxed starting 10th June.

Entering an 8-acres private property belonging to the political writer S.H. Alattas.

The land which stretches along a river comprised patches of gardens, fruit orchards and a number of houses.

It is a favourite area for us to relax at...

Views from the TM Bungalow at Fraser's Hill

The bungalow has 7 rooms. We got the one in the middle. Here's a look to the right. You could see the balconies of the 3 following rooms...

A brief look at the Pine Tree Trail of Fraser's Hill

Peace be upon you all. Today I updated my photo files from camera to laptop and found stuffs from July which should be shared in this blogspot before I can move on to more recent stuffs. So here goes...

Friday afternoon 3rd July 2020 me and family went up to the resort mountain known as the Fraser's Hill.

Our original intent was just to make a quick visit before continuing the journey from Kuala Kubu Baru to Raub. But when we found a vacant room at the TM (Telekom Malaysia) Bungalow at one of the highest parts of the mountain resort we decided to stay for a night.

Since the bungalow is near to a hiking trail called the Pine Tree Trail we decided to check it out. 

However we only covered a short portion of the trail. A full hike should take 6-7 hours and that is only one way!

When we entered the trail it was already 6.39 pm.

So we walked back to the bungalow and arrived at 7.01.

Bringing the family to Victoria Bridge

OK. Something more recent after spending the last 3 months or so sharing compilations of old articles.

Monday 15th June. After spending a night at a friend's house in Kuala Kangsar we went to a rural village where lies the old railway bridge called the Victoria Bridge...

Built in 1897 it is no longer in use for railway as there is a modern bridge besides it taking over the function...

Still there is a  part of it which is still used by villagers to get to the other side and visa versa.

 Pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists can use it making the bridge a nice tourist attraction.

Actually I have been here before twice in September 2019. Look at Perak river from Victoria Bridge.

But this is the first time I brought the wife and kids here.

Also exploring the bridge was the friend from Kuala Kangsar.
