This blogspot is a medium to share my thoughts and adventures apart from promoting my books. Below are the books which have been written or authored and published by myself.

"Berpetualang ke Aceh: Mencari Diri dan Erti".

ISBN 983-42031-0-1, Jun 2006

"Berpetualang ke Aceh: Membela Syiar yang Asal"

ISBN 983-42031-1-x, May 2007

"Berpetualang ke Aceh: Sirih Pulang ke Gagang?"

ISBN 978-983-42031-2-2, November 2007

It is interesting to note that while these books were written in Malay it has gained enough attention to merit being part of the collections of the American Library of Congress and National Library of Australia. Look here and here.

While the first three books were published by my own company, the fourth titled "Rumah Azan" was published in April 2009 by a company called Karnadya with the help of the Malaysian national literary body Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka. It features beautiful pictures along with stories behind selected mosques which could be related to the history of Islam and the Malays alongside the formation of the Malaysian nation. Look at the article A collaboration of old collegemates - the book "Rumah Azan".

My fifth book "Ahlul Bait (Family) of Rasulullah SAW and Malay Sultanates", an English translation and adaptation of the Malay book "Ahlul Bait (Keluarga) Rasulullah SAW dan Kesultanan Melayu" authored by Hj Muzaffar Mohamad and Tun Suzana Othman was published early 2010. Look here... My 5th book is out! Ahlul Bait (Family) of Rasulullah SAW and the Malay Sultanates... . For more information check out my Malay blogspot CATATAN SI MERAH SILU.

Like my fourth book "Rumah Azan", the sixth book "Kereta Api Menuju Destinasi" is also a coffee-table book which is published by the company Karnadya with the cooperation of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (the main Malay literary body in Malaysia). Coming out January 2011 it features pictures and stories on the adventure travelling by train to all of Peninsular Malaysia along with the interesting places which could be reached this way.

My seventh book "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah" in turn is a coffee-table book which is written, editted, designed and has pictures taken by me. Coming out of the factory October 2011, this book which combines family history with history of places such as Singapura, Johor, Batu Pahat, Muar and in fact the history of the island of Java and England has been reviewed with me interviewed live in the program Selamat Pagi Malaysia at RTM1. Look at the article Siaran langsung ulasan buku "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah" dan temu ramah di Selamat Pagi Malaysia. Some selected contents have been featured in Sneak peek "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah".

Exploring the rough path from Sungai Buaya towards Batang Berjuntai and back

Peace be upon you. Just sharing something from early this month.

Friday afternoon 4th Ogos 2023. After conducting the congregational Jumaat (Friday) prayers at the mosque of Kampung Sungai Buaya I decided to check out an certain inland route.

After a stretch of tarred road I turned onto this rough path.

It then diverges into two rough paths. I took the northern one leading to this part...

I had to go through some trial and error of diverging paths before arriving at this tarred road.

Then I decided to take on another slightly rough path.

Here lies a bridge crossing what should be the Batang Berjuntai river.

Next I looked for where the river flows into the bigger Selangor river...

Then I went to the main road which could lead to Batang Berjuntai town.

But instead out going to the town I took the opposite direction before entering a road leading to this bridge.

It is another bridge which crosses what should be the Batang Berjuntai river...

From there I took back the rough path to return to Sungai Buaya...

Morning at Felda Besout 1

Continuing from Bidor river from a bridge at Kampung Poh.

From Kampung Poh I headed to Felda Besout 1 and spent the night at its mosque.

Wednesday morning 9th August 2023 I looked for breakfast at the nearby market area.

The place felt so alive...

For the record this is the 2,414 article in this blogspot.

Bidor river from a bridge at Kampung Poh

Continuing from Bidor river at the far end of Kampung Poh.

Turning back towards the town of Bidor I caught sight of this bridge.

I don't know how I missed it earlier as I passed down the same road.

Anyway this is within the village of Kampung Poh.

It crosses the Bidor river downstream from the parts shown in Bidor river at the far end of Kampung Poh.

Bidor river at the far end of Kampung Poh

Continuing from A visit to the Gepai waterfall.

Next I took another rural road off Bidor and entered a village called Kampung Poh. Going further till its end I then went down this path.

It leads to a somewhat private section of the Bidor river.

It felt so calming and alluring that I took a dip there...

A visit to the Gepai waterfall

Peace be upon you. Just something from a new trip in Perak 6-9 August.

Tuesday afternoon 8th August 2023. I took a rural road from Bidor to its end and arrived at this river.

Google Map shows there is a water fall around...

So I walked upstream looking for the waterfall.

There it is...

Welcome to the Gepai waterfall.

Views from the hill at Taman Amalina Lestari, Raub

Continuing from Kinta river from the Treacher bridge, Ipoh.

On Saturday 29th July 2023 me and family went to Janda Baik and then to Raub. Arriving at night we lodged at a cousin's house at Taman Amalina Lestari. The following morning Sunday 30th caught sight of this hill or rather, part of a hill in front of the house.

I just can't resist climbing...

Actually the house was situated high enough on the hill.

The part of the hill seen from the house is actually its summit...

Kinta river from the Treacher bridge, Ipoh

Peace be upon you. Recently I went to Perak again. This time spending a night in central Ipoh.

Me and family stayed at a hotel besides the Kinta river. Thursday morning 27th July 2023 I decide to take a walk along the river.

I've been to Ipoh many many times. But this was the first time I had a proper walk along the Kinta river within the city.

I say proper walk because before this I've only walk along roads that happen to run along the river. This time I walked along the garden path besides the river and soon came onto this small bridge.

I found out it is known as the Treacher bridge.

The Kinta river...
